Fusion Complex

A fusion of supraventricular impulses across a normal rapid ventricular pathway with a premature ventricular complex that happens to occur at close to the same time. The combination of normal and abnormal pathways across the ventricles, proceeding in differing directions simultaneously, often results in a wide QRS complex with P waves preceding – but of a unique shape and size compared to other supraventricular initiated complexes that are not fused with a PVC. The timing of fusion complexes are typically synchronized with the underlying rhythm – not arriving earlier or later than expected.

sinus bradycardia, 56/min, fusion complexes, multifocal PVC
