Multifocal Premature Ventricular Complex

Premature ventricular complexes (PVC) occur earlier than expected (thus premature) and the QRS width is wide without a preceding P wave. The QRS complex can take many possible shapes. When more than a single PVC is present, the shapes of the PVC denote the location of impulse formation within the ventricles. When initiated from a similar focus, the path of ventricular depolarization is also similar, leading to a PVC of similar shapes (unifocal PVC). For PVC of differing impulse locations, the depolarization pathways also are distinct. PVC of differing shapes (morphologies) are called multifocal PVC.

sinus bradycardia, 56/min, fusion complexes, multifocal PVC
